My Windows XP was getting restart on shutdown
Since last many days when select shutdown windows the pc was getting restart.I had to switch off PC directly.
Restarting pc on shutdown may be a problem of many people.So I am posting a little solution here.
It is a problem, of crashing windows at last moment of shutdown.It creates illusion that you made a successful shutdown and windows restarted then.Actually there was no successful shutdown.At last moment windows crashed and as you have checked the setting “Automatic Restart windows on failure” the windows restarted.
To solve this problem you just need to disable automatic restart on system failure.
Go to My Computer—>System Properties from left side menu —>Advanced —>Under startup & recovery choose Settings —> Uncheck “Automatic Restart” under system failure.
Accept all boxes by clicking ‘OK’ . Shutdown system and have a check.
