Solve your problems by just sending a SMS | IIT Bombay Techfest 2010 Live Blogging
Kanan and Neelam, 4th year CSE students, SRKNEC Nagpur represented concept of User to User search as a part of IIT techfest 2010 open software.
They have created a SMS based query portal in that user will be able to get answer for his queries by just a single SMS.
“Basic behind the project is we connect a dedicated cell phone to internet via GPRS where users can send their query via SMS. The query will appear on an internet forums and other users will answer it.” Kanan explained.
The connector mobile software is coded in symbian-python. As anyone answers the query the answer will be sent to the person who queried.
The benefit of the project is you can commercialise it embedding advertisement in the replies. Also it is having social importance as it will make reach internet services to anyplace by SMS.
“So our aim is to give solutions to a farmer in small village which is not having internet connectivity.” Neelam said.
They have used Joomla as their web platform.
