Before a year my PC was having very strange problem. It was getting hanged suddenly. On restart it was showing Pentium 4 Logo,In whole system my processor was getting treated as Pentium 4,which was correct.I mean my processor was 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4.
On next hanging and restart the system was showing Celeron.Working frequency was different. Also whole system was treating it as Celeron processor.
Even the boot logos were getting changed.Worst thing was when processor goes to Pentium 4 to Celeron or vice-versa my system was hanging.I had to loose all work.I have included screenshots of my BIOS settings in both cases, none was showing correct processor details.
Gradually the problem became biggest problem.I was not able to work on PC continuously for 10 minutes.
The problem was generating due to CPU over heating,I sent Processor to Intel. They upgraded firmware till I think and sent back to me.For some days processor worked fine.Again it started generating same problem and CPU over heating error.
I again sent the processor to Intel. They noticed the problem and sent me new 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor as it was in warranty I got it for free.
It is a notable problem so I am posting on blog so in future or currently if you are suffering from the same thing,it can be manufacturing defect from Intel.
