This is the 2nd part of HTML Tutorial series.
Till now we have seen
Lets move further and create our first HTML page. In further few sessions you will be learning various HTML tags. Be ready with KPSofts’ HTML Learner Tool (Recommended) or Notepad.
Let us make one Hello World ! Page.
Hello World !
Save it as “my first page.html” or “my first page.htm” without quotes. If you are using KPSofts’ HTML Learner Tool you will be able to see output above code type window, else you have to save the file, then you have to open it in browser.
BODY tag says to a browser that content is starting from here, where /BODY says that content is ending there.
In title bar you may see something like “Untitled Document” because we haven’t specified title of the page in HEAD section yet. Lets do it now, TITLE tag will help us, which is a paired tag.
<TITLE>MY 1st Page</TITLE>
Hello World !
The text we wrote, “Hello World !” is looking so simple. Now we are moving to some text formatting tags. You have to make practice and see the output yourself. I won’t be pasting output or screenshots of outputs.
<B> tag is used to make text bold. There is another tag <STRONG> which creates same effect in output. The both are paired tag, you need to close them once you have opened them.
<I> tag is used for Italic text. It is a paired tag. Same way <U> tag is helpful to underline a text. The both are paired tags.
<P> tag is paragraph tag. It is useful to make paragraphs. </P> will end a paragraph.
<FONT> tag is used to define text font size, color, type etc. which is a paired tag.
<FONT size=12 color=red face=”Times New Roman”>Hello How are you? </FONT>
This will give you below output:
Hello How are you?
Font color can be specified directly by color name like blue, red, green or HEX color code: #FF0000 for Red.
For hex color code choosing use the software from KPSofts or Visit this link.
<CENTER> tag gives center alignment to text specified between the tag and it’s closing tag.
We will learn few more important and basic tags in next lecture.
