Should I target my Adsense channels or not ?
Most of Adsense publishers stay confused about targeting adsense channels.Here is quick guide about targeting your custom adsense channel.
In my opinion sites which are having medium traffic to medium high traffic (lets say 200 unique visitors to 10000 unique visitors) should target their adsense channels.
Targeting channels is a nice opportunity to market your site in front of advertisers.The person who markets his thing , gets more sale.Same way a person who markets his site gets more bidders.More bids & Medium traffic=High winning bid=more payment per click
So what you have to do now.You have to become a marketer person for your site.Think of recent creative TV advertises,banners,slogans,taglines.These things will help for sure.
First step is dividing your site in parts and assign different custom channel to each part.For example Top Center,Right Sky Scrapper,Bottom Center,Content Center Ads.
Also create on main channel which includes all sub channels for the site.Then give nice proper name to the channels.You can use the same name I told above.
Go to Adsense Setup –> Channels
Click edit/settings for the perticular channel,
Check “Show this channel to advertisers as an ad placement” under Targeting
Now enter a good name under Ads appear on: by choosing “Other pages” radio button.
Now choose Ad location.
Description is most important part.You have 200 characters per channel to prove your site is best to advertise.Explain site in brief,include tagline if you feel.
Don’t include your page views,ad location in description.Google already shows it in Adwords account if you have used it.
After 15 days monitor your earnings from each channel that you made targetable ,if it’s doing great then good else try another Description.
This works really.All you need is good management and marketing skills.

wow, adsense channels it work very well for me .
at first i just place any ads. after i saw people say u can do the channels so u know which ads earn more money.

If you enable targeting – more not relevant ads will apear on your website and they do not generate clicks. CPC is higher, it is true, but less people click – less revenue.
